The Resumator is an industry-leading hiring platform which has helped companies screen and hire millions of candidates. We have a unique opportunity to join our data science team on the ground floor. We’re looking for a recent masters-level graduate (December 2014 grads may apply) with degree in data science with industry experience putting data science into production in a SaaS environment in a company like Resumator, or in a large scale data science team at a company like Google, NetFlix, or LinkedIn.
Responsibilities
- Analyze millions of resumes, hiring decisions, and job descriptions to understand key aspects that lead to highly effective hiring.
- Build models and classifiers which will run live in a production environment which feed back analytics to Resumator customers.
- Help us establish processes and best practices as we incorporate data science in our SaaS product.
- Work with our engineering team to build data collection and analysis into The Resumator’s DNA.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or quantitative field like Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Data Science, or Physics
- Deep understanding of building, deploying, and debugging statistical models in production at scale
- Excellent communication skills -- able to communicate complex statistical results to laymen
- Strong experience working with data at scale, i.e. using tools like Hadoop, Storm+Trident, ElasticSearch, Spark, etc… to manage and analyze massive datasets
- Experience with data visualization tools like D3.js, Sigma.js, and Tableau
- Able to work daily on location at our offices in Pittsburgh, PA
Bonus Points
- Experience in natural language processing and information retrieval
- Blog with interesting data explorations and analyses you’ve performed
- Record of contributions to open source projects like scikit-learn, NLTK, or an R package
- Advanced degree in Machine Learning or Data Science

This is a full-time position that requires working on-site at The Resumator in Pittsburgh, PA. Only candidates who are in or are willing to relocate to the Pittsburgh area will be considered.
